God is the author and giver of life.  He created you in His image with a purpose and plan in mind.  His purpose for creating you was to have a relationship with you. The problem is sin, which keeps us from looking like the image of God. Sin is anything Jesus wouldn't do, and it separates us from a good God who desires intimacy with us. The penalty of sin is death. While we all want to go to heaven, we actually deserve hell. 

Thankfully God had a plan to reach His children. He sent His son, Jesus, to become a man who lived without sin, to take our punishment on the cross.  Jesus was beaten, whipped, and crucified on the cross for our sins. He defeated death and rose from the dead!  All because he loves you and sees exactly what you look like without the influence of sin in your life!! The price tag Jesus puts on you, is his life and suffering on the cross. 

 When you call on the name of Jesus, and repent of your sins (turn away from), and make him the Lord (authority) over your life, the old man dies, and you are reborn as a new man.  Then Jesus sends his Spirit to come live inside you (Holy Sprit). 

Imagine a judge saying you're guilty of every sin you ever committed. Then he stands up, takes off his robe, and says, "You can go free, I'll take the death sentence for you. Every sin you ever committed is completely paid for and your record is wiped clean."  This is what Jesus did for you!!

Jesus says, "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." John17:3

Eternal life starts today by calling on the name of Jesus and receiving the free gift of salvation.  Through that gift you get to KNOW God in a relationship.  Not the same as knowing about God. 

As you talk to God, read the Bible, and get plugged into a church; the Holy Spirit will continue guiding you and shaping you to look like Jesus more and more.  Transforming lives is what he does!
